Tuskegee falls to West Alabama 27-17 in Red Tails Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Tuskegee Golden Tigers fell to West Alabama 27-17 in the sixth annual Red Tails Classic at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.

This was the first time that two in-state teams had met for the season-opening game, which has featured Tuskegee since it began.

Tuskegee trailed 14-7 at halftime, and after a scoreless third quarter for both teams, the scoreboard lit up in the fourth quarter, with West Alabama putting 13 points on the board, and Tuskegee 10.

That wasn’t enough for the Golden Tigers, which start the season at 0-1. Tuskegee plays Fort Valley State on Saturday, September 5, in the Port City Classic in Mobile. Kickoff is at 4PM.
