MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Action 8 News has obtained court documents that provide new information on the murders of two women in Montgomery’s Gibbs Village public housing community.

As Action 8 News has reported, Police have arrested 20-year-old Tarus Giles on four counts of capital murder. He is charged in the shooting deaths of 25-year-old Undrea Willis and 19-year-old Nalyn Reeves. They were found shot to death in the 1800 block of Gibbs Circle on Monday, August 31. They are the 36th and 37th homicide victims of the year in Montgomery.

Court documents break down the charges this way: Two charges of capital murder in presence of a child under 14, one charge of capital murder of two or more people and one charge of capital murder during a burglary.

Court records say Giles broke into the home through the living room window after the victims secured the front door. During the murders, a 10-month-old child was in a bedroom.

Records show Giles is the father of the 10-month-old. Reeves was the baby’s mother. Reeves had filed a protection from abuse petition against Giles in December 2025, citing incidents in November 2025 and December 2025, court records state.

Giles was out on bond on a third-degree burglary charge from January when the fatal shootings happened.
