Marion woman charged with child endangerment in Selma

SELMA, Ala. (WAKA) – A Marion woman faces charges that she left four young children unattended inside a hot vehicle outside the Selma Walmart.

Police say 26-year-old D’Anna Nicole Harris is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say an officer spotted the children inside a vehicle during a routine patrol. Police say the children told the officer that their caregiver was inside the store. It was approximately 99 degrees at the time.

Harris was arrested, charged and released on a $4,000 bond.

Police say never leave children unattended in a vehicle. They say in the heat, even a short period of time in a hot vehicle can put children at risk.
