MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Montgomery Regional Airport now has a new, high-tech way to train air traffic controllers.

A new Tower Simulation System projects real airport layouts, allowing controllers to practice operations and scenarios using simulated traffic.

TSS can speed up training times by almost 30%.

The Federal Aviation Administration is installing 117 of these systems at airports across the country as part of its Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS).
