Alabama State swarms Mississippi Valley State for 41-15 victory
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Alabama State’s offense, led by freshman quarterback Aaron Frye, and a powerful defense brought the Hornets a 41-15 victory over Mississippi Valley State at ASU Stadium tonight.
ASU (3-1, 1-0 SWAC) extended its home winning streak to a stadium-record nine straight home games dating back to November 2024.
Mississippi Valley State (1-4, 0-1 SWAC) was held to 2.6 yards per rush and 3.9 yards per play.
The Hornets have won five straight against Mississippi Valley State by a combined score of 180-47, as well as each of its last 12 meetings in Montgomery.
The Hornets make their first SWAC road trip next week, traveling to Daytona Beach, Florida, to face Bethune-Cookman. Kickoff is at 3PM CDT on Saturday, October 3.
