A Lowndes County man pleads guilty — in a 2018 Dallas County double murder case.

Christopher Gordon has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole — after pleading guilty to the murders of Antonio Green and Corey Hardy back in January of 2018.

“Some type of altercation happened, some type of verbal argument and then the next thing you know shots were, rang out,” said Dallas Co. Sheriff Mike Granthum.

“Two people were killed. It was a horrific murder.”

The incident happened in the Tyler community near the intersection of County Road 7 and County Road 30.

“Under the facts of the case, Mr. Gordon shot Mr. Antonio Green while he was in a vehicle, in a secluded area of Dallas County, and set the vehicle on fire,” said Dallas Co. District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr.

“Green was burned severely. He had to be identified by artificial means. Corey Hardy who was an acquaintance of Green was also killed that day during the same incident. And his body was found a couple of yards away from the vehicle.”

Gordon pled guilty to two counts of capital murder late last week.

“He entered the plea, he waved a pre-sentence hearing and investigation,” said Turner.

“He was already in custody but now he will just be awaiting transportation to the Alabama Department of Corrections. And we’re just happy to say that that’s a case that we have been able to bring some resolution to and some closure to both of those families.”

Turner says Gordon will be transported to a state prison facility in the coming weeks.
