Teeing up for a safer community: CrimeStoppers golf tournament returns Friday
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — A day on the golf course is helping support efforts to make Alabama communities safer.
The CrimeStoppers 215STOP Annual Golf Tournament is set for Friday, October 9 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville.
The tournament is part of CrimeStoppers’ broader effort to strengthen relationships among local law enforcement agencies, the media and Alabama residents while encouraging people to anonymously report information about crimes.
CrimeStoppers Communications Manager Jerome Jones Jr. spoke with Action 8’s Estee Morrison about the organization’s work and how anonymous crime reporting can help law enforcement get fugitives off the streets.
Sign-in for the tournament begins at 10 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill is located at 2600 Constitution Ave. in Prattville.
