Jury Selection Began Yesterday for Run to Death Case

Jury selection began yesterday for the murder trial of an Alabama woman, who is accused of making her granddaughter run ’til she died.
Prosecutors say Joyce Garrard Hardin forced nine-year-old Savannah Hardin run as a punishment for a lie in 2012.
The little girl collapsed, was taken to the hospital, and later died. Prosecutors will select 12 jurors from a pool of hundreds.
Garrard could get the death penalty if convicted.
