Prayer Vigil Held For Child Crime Victims

Years after family members disappeared those left behind are not giving up hope. Saturday organizations came together holding a vigil for missing children and victims of crime.

The Ministers of the Montgomery River Region organization teamed up with Tri-Success Resource Services out of Birmingham to host this prayer vigil.

They prayed for hope peace and love for the child victims of crime as well as the missing and their families.

One of those is the family of Sherry Lynn Marler who’s been missing for more than 30 years. She disappeared in Greenville at the age of 12 in broad daylight.

Betty Stringfellow, daughter missing for 31 years said, “You think it’ll never happen to you. That’s what I thought to. But it can. It can happen to anybody. If it can happen in a little town like Greenville where the population is only 10,000 or so it can happen anywhere. To anybody so just always tell your children you love them.”

If you have any information about the disappearance of Sherry Lynn Marler contact Greenville Police at (334) 382-7461.
