Elton Reece, Director of Selma Recreation Department, Passes Away
Elton Reece, the director of Selma‘s city parks and recreation department, passed away Monday morning. Reece suffered a stroke Sunday evening and was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he passed away Monday. Reece worked as a the head football and baseball coach position at Selma High School in 1972 before taking his position with the city in 1991. Reece joined the city‘s recreation department in 1991 and accepted the position as director in 1999.
