Downtown Montgomery is making strides to help bring more groceries to the area.
And one market is doing what it can to help meet the need.

There has been talk of bringing a grocery store to the area for years.
But mayor Todd Strange has told us there needs to be an increase of about 1500 residents in the area before the store would come.
One store owner says he hopes his store will be the solution.
Ron Dean is the owner of Knicker Knacker Market on Lee Street.

“We basically carry everything. The only thing we don’t have right now is poultries, fish, meat and that will definitely be coming in within this week,” said Dean.

Dean says he also hopes to expand his store in the future.
