A Greenville student will represent Alabama in the nation’s capital. It’s all thanks to Pioneer Electric, which is working to engage and enlighten students about public service.
Emiley Wells is a junior at the Fort Dale Academy in Greenville. She’s one of a handful of students that will represent the state at the 2015 youth tour in Washington, DC.
The program gives students an inside look at public service, as well as different ways to become better leaders.
Wells plans to major in business once she goes to college and says she’s looking forward to meeting with lawmakers to see how politics affect business.
The 2015 Youth tour is held by rural electric cooperatives from across the country. The first was held in 1964.
