A Greenville kindergarten teacher is preparing to retired after touching young lives for 38 years.
Lillian Gardner, who teaches at W.O. Parmer Elementary School, will end her career on Friday, May 1.
She says it was other teachers who inspired her.
“They were so impressionable, they cared, and I wanted to have that same caring spirit that they had,” she told Alabama News Network.
While she will be missed at school, Gardner says she’s still going to be involved in education through her church.
