ADOC Investigates Apparent Suicide at Montgomery Prison

The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the apparent suicide of a state inmate reported Wednesday at the Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery County.

Prison officials found Paul Ford, 49, hanging by a bed sheet in his cell at approximately 2:30 p.m.  Ford was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at 3 p.m.

Ford was sentenced to life without parole in 1988 on a murder conviction in Talladega County.
