Charges Dropped Against Cyrus Jones
Two days after being arrested, police dropped the charges against Alabama cornerback Cyrus Jones were dropped Friday. Jones was charged with criminal mischief and harassment ( Wednesday morning. Tuscaloosa police say they dropped the charges because Jones “attempted to deescalate the situation by contacting the Tuscaloosa Police Department.” The city attorney agreed with the decision to dismiss the charges. Police said there was sufficient probable cause to make the initial arrest. Jones allegedly took and destroyed a 22-year old’s cell phone.
