Thanks to our Alabama News Network viewers and several other groups, we were able to present about 1,800 books to Selma City Schools.
Recently, Alabama News Network presented the “Magic of Storytelling” book drive. We worked with the ABC television network, Disney, First Book and BMW of Montgomery to collect books.
Those books and monetary contributions really added up to make for a meaningful gift to Selma City Schools.
We chose that school system to honor the 50th anniversary of the Selma-to-Montgomery civil rights march. Instead of just presenting a plaque, we wanted to do something meaningful that would help Selma children.
But we couldn’t have done it without our viewers. Thanks to all of you who helped make this book drive such a success!
