Authorities Raid Macon County Jail; Jailer Accused of Giving Drugs to Inmates

More than 25 local and state agents conducted a raid on the Macon County Jail early Wednesday morning. Authorities say the raid followed a two month long investigation. One correctional officer, Nancy Maness, was arrested and charged with bringing contraband inside the jail. Maness is accused of providing inmates with cell phones and drugs. Officials says more arrests are expected in the case. At least 15 inmates are also believed to be involved. Details on any potential charges the inmates could face have not been released.
