Shocking new details about an Auburn University lab technician accused of selling the date rape drug. Stephen Howard was in federal court today, where a judge denied him bond, calling him a rapist and saying he’s a risk to society.

64-year-old Stephen Howard will remain behind bars after a federal judge denied him bond.

“The government prevailed. Mr. Howard is detained and that was the right result.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Verne Speirs says Howard is a threat to society.

“I think the evidence that was presented in court today with the various things that he said to the undercover about what he would want to do to women..the fact that he has firearms, he was willing to display those firearms. It’s clear that if you were in the courtroom and you heard what he planned to do, that he is a danger to the community.”

Alabama News Network was in the courtroom, though cameras were not allowed inside. Prosecutors played video that appears to be Howard selling the date rape drug to an undercover agent and explaining exactly what the drug does.
Howard can be heard on camera saying he’s drugged women in the past.
He talks to the undercover agent about drugging women, then shaving their heads, carving obscenities into their heads and pouring ink into their wounds, he says like the Nazi’s would do.
Howard is also being charged with possessing a handgun during the drug transaction.
He’s heard on video calling the handgun  “the n***** cutter”

“It’s a relief because what we hope is that we got in there early enough and maybe prevented someone from being a victim of this,” said Auburn Police Chief  Paul Register. “However, that’s why we did give out the number because we don’t know.”
