We caught up with U.S. Rep. Martha Roby in Millbrook to ask her about the crowded race for president in 2016.

While polls show former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton with a commanding lead in the race for the Democratic nomination, the Republican race is much less clear.

Roby, a Republican, says she’s not ready to endorse any candidate just yet. Mike Huckabee, who won the Alabama GOP primary in 2008, and Rick Santorum, who won the Alabama GOP primary in 2012, are both in the race in 2016.

Roby says she’s looking for a candidate who supports the U.S. military and believes in peace through strength.

“What I’d like to see is a candidate separate themselves by owning foreign policy and making sure our military is equipped with the best equipment and the best training,” Roby told Alabama News Network.

Roby also believes now that Alabama has moved its primary from June to March the state will play a more important role in selecting the nominee for president.
