Teen Charged with Causing Damage to Selma High School

Selma High School is left with a repair bill for thousands of dollars in damage after a student was charged with setting off the sprinkler system.
Selma police say a student climbed on top of a table and held a lit cigarette lighter under a sprinkler. They say the incident caused extensive water damage in about six classrooms at the school.
“They had computers, they had smart boards, they had desks, they had the floors, the ceilings, books in majority of all the classrooms,” Selma police Sgt. Evelyn Ghant told Alabama News Network.
