UPDATE: Woman Dies at Montgomery Apartment Complex after Being Shot; Police Make Arrest

Montgomery police are investigating a shooting that has left a woman dead.

Police say they and fire medics were called to the 3500 block of McGehee Place Drive South shortly after 7:00 this morning. That is just off McGehee Road, across from the old Montgomery Mall.

They found 22-year-old Destiny Reynolds of Montgomery who had a life-threatening gunshot wound. She later died.

Police say the suspect, 21-year-old Gerald Wells, Jr., of Montgomery was taken into custody at the scene.

After further investigation, police say the shooting happened in the 700 block of Hyundai Boulevard.

Wells was charged with murder and taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and held under a $1,500,000.00 bond.
