The best players in Southern Minor League baseball are about to face off at Riverwalk Stadium.

But before they that, fans got to meet those players at a meet and greet Monday evening in the Alley.
This is a once-in-a-decade event for the city of Montgomery.
We talked to some fans who came all the way from Tampa just for the events.

“Just to hopefully meet players who will one day play in the major leagues and we can say, ‘hey, we saw them ‘when’, when they started.’ Minor league baseball is a great family experience,” said Stephanie Pierce.

For Montogmery and the Biscuits, it’s an exciting time as well.

“Every 10 years you get a chance to host one of these. I know the mayor is really excited because it brings tourism from the outside to Montgomery, which is always good. And we’ve really changed a lot in ten years. A lot of these people that have been with the teams and organization were here ten years ago and I can’t tell you how many come up to me and tell me, ‘wow, this place is so different,'” said Greg Rauch.

There are still some tickets available for the all-star game Tuesday evening.
