A student’s college years should be filled with learning and self discovery, but for too many, especially women, violence can shatter their lives.

To help fight crime and stop violence against women,  Alabama State University President Gwendolyn Boyd and Montgomery Police Chief Ernest Finley signed a memorandum of understanding.

The agreement formally solidifies a working relationship between ASU and the MPD on helping fight crime on campus.

It specifically is aimed at stopping violence against women.  Officials want students to know they can seek help from any police officer, whether on campus or off,  Just as long as they speak up.
