Selma Hosts 2015 Dixie Majors Baseball State Tournament

From the West Alabama Newsroom– The 2015 Dixie Majors State Baseball Championship Tournament is underway in Selma.
Some of the top teams and best amateur baseball players in the state are showcasing their talents at the tournament.
Five district championship teams are battling it out on the field to find out which one is the best of the best.
Its the 5th consecutive year Selma is hosting the tournament.
“Its a very big deal. Its teams throughout the state. They do stay overnight in our hotels and eat at our restaurants.” said interim Selma recreation director Lebo Jones.
“It’s a great thing for the city of Selma and hopefully we can host it for many years to come.”
The tournament winner moves on to play the Dixie Major World Series next month in Ozark.
