Local Law Enforcement Participates in Survival Training Weekend
Maxwell Air Force Base played host to a survival training exercise for local law enforcement. About twenty members of the Montgomery Police and Fire Departments, as well as the Alabama State Troopers Aviation Search and Rescue Unit took part in the exercise alongside members of the 908th Airlift Wing.
They practiced boarding life rafts, helicopter extractions, parachute rescues, and other long-term survival skills.Â
Officials say the training weekend benefits not only law enforcement, but the people who may need their help.
