ADT’s “Stars on the Riverfront” Rehearse for Big Weekend

Local dance students are hard at work along the riverfront rehearsing a wide range of dance from classical to contemporary.

“A-Tudes, Don Quixote, and fun jazz pieces,” said Kate Robertson with the Alabama Dance Theatre.

The students have also had guest instructors come in to teach them.

Dancers we talked to say they are grateful for what they learned.

Rachel Graham says, “it’s a great time to get better at dancing and you have a lot of time to work on your technique and it really helps you become a stronger dancer.”

Penelope Faulk says, “love dancing, get to be with my friends. I get to perfrom and I love performing.”

Sarah Messick says, “it’s really fun and different since we get to dance outside instead of a studio or theater.”

Yvette Enriquez says, “it’s been hectic just learning from guest instructors, it’s great. We’re here all day and we really improve so much.”

If you would like to attend “Stars on the Riverfront,” performances are Sunday, August 2nd and Monday, August 3rd at 7:30pm at the riverfront amphitheater. It is free and open to the public.
