Alabama News Network Meteorologist Elissia Wilson explains how the EF-1 tornado that hit the Walmart shopping center in Troy formed and why it is so rare to see this time of year.

The tornado heavily damaged the Walmart and a nearby Hibbett Sports. The National Weather Service says six people were hurt.

The tornado’s winds are estimated to have been 100mph. It was on the ground for about two minutes.
