Protesters Rally for Confederate Flag to Come Back to Capital Grounds
Members of the group the Alabama Flaggers held a rally today at the steps of the capital, saying they want the Confederate Battle Flag to once again fly above the capital grounds. About 30 people gathered to protest Governor Bentley’s decision to remove the battle flag from the grounds back in June.  The group is based in Gadsden, and they say the flags’ removal is a form of discrimination.Â
“I want the flag back on the state capital,” says Justin Wilson, the director of the Alabama Flaggers. “I want our history back. I want them to stop disgracing our flag.”
The Alabama Flaggers were joined by members of The League of the South, which is a secessionist group that  the Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled as a hate group.
