New Legislative Session Begins Tuesday

The new legislative session begins this week. The session will include possible changes to the state tax code and Medicaid and a proposal to create a state lottery.

Many Democrats are pushing for an expansion of the Medicaid program, but Republican leaders say that’s not going to happen.Â

Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Craig Ford is proposing the creation of a state lottery, but House Majority Leader Mickey Hammon says that’s not going to pass.
