An air ambulance base in Wetumpka is closing its doors.Â
Air Evac Lifeteam says the decision is effective immediately.
Company officials said low reimbursement rates combined with a low demand for patients is forcing the closure.Â
Employees were given the option to work with other positions in the company or to accept a severance package.Â
The base had been in operation since 2006.Â
