Fourth suspect arrested in murder of Wilcox Co. two year old

Another suspect in the murder of a Wilcox County two year old — is now behind bars.

Sheriff Larry Colston says 23 year old Tyreek Smith — is accused of shooting into a vehicle that was carrying several passengers — including the two year old baby.

The shooting happened just outside of Camden in the Meadowbrook Community — back in January.

The U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force tracked Smith all the way to California — where he was caught and apprehended.

Colston says Smith is now back in Wilcox County — where he’s been indicted on multiple charges in the case.

“Two counts of capital murder — three counts of attempted — and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle. They arrested him in Riverside, California. And he was extradited back here to Wilcox County,” said Colston.

“So, we have him here now. Just made it in this weekend. Getting ready to take him to court for his charges.”

Smith is the fourth suspect arrested in the case.
