Hyundai Manufacturing to Resume Production Monday

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) will take a measured approach to resume automobile production in Montgomery, starting on May 4. They will transition to full production with one shift and add more shifts in the coming weeks.

HMMA has implemented extensive protocols to provide safe, secure and sanitized workspaces for all team members. They say their procedures comply with all federal, state and local health and safety guidelines and ordinances.

HMMA say they have taken proactive steps to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees. For example, they have instituted pre-screening for temperature; physical distancing guidelines in workstations and break areas; staggered shifts; expanded existing cleaning protocols and health and safety communication materials.

Governor Kay Ivey has instituted a safer-at-home order until May 15. HMMA has encouraged all team members to respect this order and follow Centers for Disease Control and Alabama Department of Public Health protocols for reducing the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
