CAMPAIGN 2024: Preview of GOP Presidential Debate at Univ. of Alabama
Action 8 News Political Analyst Steve Flowers has insight into the Republican Presidential Debate that will be held at the University of Alabama.
It’s the fourth GOP debate of the campaign season and is being held at the Moody Music Hall on campus on Wednesday night.
Former President Trump has already said he would not be there but will be holding an event near Miami instead.
The four candidates who have qualified to be on stage are Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
Does Flowers think it’s smart for Trump to skip his fourth debate and this free national TV airtime?
“This is the right political decision for him to skip these debates with that kind of lead. It only gives credence to DeSantis and Haley. I think DeSantis and Haley have a lot to gain if anybody watches it because I think Haley is angling to be on the ticket with Trump as a vice president.”
Flowers thinks DeSantis is using this campaign to prepare to run again in four years.
You can watch Wednesday’s debate live on The CW Montgomery. It will start at 7PM CST.
The CW Montgomery can be seen over-the-air on Channel 22.1 or Channel 32.2Â or on cable, satellite or streaming services.
