18-year-old killed, teen, child hurt in Marengo County car crash

A single-car crash in Marengo County has killed an 18-year-old and injured a teenager and a child.

Alabama State Troopers say the crash happened around 5PM Sunday. Investigators say the 18-year-old, whose name hasn’t been released, was from Sweet Water.

They say the 18-year-old was riding in the car when it left the road, hit a tree and caught fire. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the driver was a 15-year-old from Thomasville. The driver and a 9-year-old who was also in the car, were injured and taken to a hospital.

The crash happened on Alabama Highway 10,  about one mile east of Dixon Mills.
