Prattville man charged in Montgomery murder

Montgomery police say they’ve charged a Prattville man with murder.

Police say 31-year-old Travis Mims is charged with killing 45-year-old Michael Cook, who was also from Prattville.

As Action 8 News has reported, Cook was shot and killed May 6, 2022, on Dalraida Court.

Police say Mims was served on November 18, 2022 by MPD homicide detectives while in the custody of the Department of Corrections for unrelated charges.

Yesterday, police say Mims was brought to Montgomery and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond. 

Police haven’t released any other details.
