8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Canned soft drinks recalled in Alabama, other states
8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Nearly 2,000 cases of Diet Coke, Sprite and Fanta Orange have been recalled in Alabama and two other states.
The recall is because they may contain “foreign material” inside the cans.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the cans were pulled from stores in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. The cans came from United Packers, LLC in Mobile.
Neither Coca-Cola nor the FDA have released details about what kind of material may be in the cans. They believe that all cans are now off of store shelves.
However, the FDA says you need to check your home for any affected cans.
The recall includes:
- Diet Coke 12-packs marked with lot numbers JAN2924MBD3 and UPC 49000028911 and have a best-by date of Jan. 29, 2024.

- Sprite 12-packs with lot numbers JUL2924MBD3 and UPC 49000028928.
