Salvation Army of Montgomery distributes toys to over 1,000 children in the River Region

Thanks to the generosity of everyone in the River Region, the Salvation Army of Montgomery was able to help families in our area have a Merry Christmas.

Along with help from dozens of volunteers, the Salvation Army was able to give out toys, clothing and stocking stuffers to over 1,000 children this year.

The donations were provided through Action 8’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive and other programs, like the Angel Tree.

The gifts were distributed to families that preregistered with the program earlier this year.

People we spoke with are thankful to everyone in the River Region.

“It means a lot,” said Danyiel Wadkins. “It helps out a lot. Just to see how much people are giving back it Means a lot. It’s a wonderful welcoming experience and I’m excited about being a part of it. My kids are going to be excited.”

Distribution Day continues Wednesday. To find out how you can help volunteer, contact the Salvation Army of Montgomery.
