Montgomery police release 2023 homicide numbers
The Montgomery Police Department has released its 2023 homicide numbers to Action 8 News.
The police department recorded 75 homicides in 2023. That compares to 62 in 2022 and 77 in 2021.
The department says the rate of homicide arrests is higher than the national average. It also credits Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey for seeking to hold those charged with violent crimes without bond.
