Montgomery police have charged a suspect in a homicide that occurred in late December.

Major Saba Coleman tells Action 8 News that 46-year-old Samuel Robinson, of Montgomery, is charged with Capital Murder in the shooting death of 59-year-old David Pitts, also of Montgomery.

Montgomery police say they were called to a hospital around 8:00 p.m. on December 29. Upon their arrival, they found Pitts with a gunshot wound. Pitts later died from his injuries.

It was later determined that the shooting happened in the 4000 block of Cresta Circle. That’s just off West Boulevard.

Robinson was taken into custody on January 5 by MPD and the United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force. He is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on no bond.
