A Certain Protein Can Help Prevent Alzheimer’s Disease

Scientists at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center say a protein used to control blood pressure may also help prevent Alzheimer’s Disease. 

The study found that ACE inhibitors can also clear brain blood vessels of the beta-amyloid protein. 

Accumulation of this protein can lead to Alzheimer’s, which damages brain cells resulting in a decline in mental function.
