ACTION 8 UPDATE: Missing four-year-old from Barbour County found safe

ACTION 8 UPDATE: A four-year-old boy who went missing in Barbour County has been found safe.

Today, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State  Bureau of Investigation took the lead in the search for four-year-old Phenix Wilkerson of  Clayton.

The boy had last been seen on Friday afternoon in the area of Sid Bush Road in Clayton.

At approximately 3:15PM this afternoon, he was located safe and is currently being checked out by medical personnel.  

On Friday, ALEA’s Fusion Center issued an Emergency Missing Child Alert concerning his disappearance as well as shared the alert on ALEA social media platforms. ALEA’s aviation unit launched and responded to the area as well as ALEA special agents.

ALEA says a multitude of law enforcement agencies and first responders responded to the scene and  assisted with the search and rescue.  

No other information has been released.
