A Rather Rainy Weather Pattern Ahead
Despite limited sunshine over the next several days. a nice south to southeasterly wind flow will continue to warm us up! Along with the warmth will come increasing moisture and that will lead to several rounds of rain. It’s a significant change that I believe we all will welcome.
In the meantime, our sky will remain cloudy tonight. There’s the possibility for a shower but nothing heavy. The clouds will help slow the cooling and overnight temps won’t be near as cold as they have been lately. We’re only dropping into the mid to upper 50s lows. You certainly will feel the change in temps Wednesday. We’re expecting lower 70s to return. Sixty degrees is the average high and we will be above that and climbing through the week.
Precipitation chances will increase as the week progresses. There will be numerous rounds coming as several disturbances work across the area throughout the week. We expect thunderstorms to be imbedded in the rain at times. The Storm Prediction Center does have a marginal risk for severe storms over southwest Alabama for Thursday. Rainfall potential will be fairly significant with 2 to 4 inches and some spots a little higher Wednesday through Friday. We could even add to that with additional rainfall Saturday. Definitely keep the rain gear handy this week.
Looks like we will see the parade of rain/storms come to an end late Saturday. This will set us up for drier conditions to return Sunday into early next week. High pressure will return and that should help keep us rainfree for a bit. Temps will drop slightly but high temps will hover near the average of 60 degrees.
