Auburn’s Penta and Peralta earn Preseason All-SEC

Auburn senior pitcher Maddie Penta and junior short stop Nelia Peralta earn Preseason All-SEC honors.

Last season Penta had a stellar junior campaign with the Tigers earning her SEC Pitcher of the year honors as well as NFCA First Team All-American honors. In addition to this accolades, Penta also lead the SEC in wins in 2023 with 27 and she also tied the Auburn record with wins in a single season. Penta has also become just the second Tiger to record more than 300 strikeouts in a season. Last season Penta finished the year with 303 strikeouts which was the second most in the nation.

In addition to Preseason All-SEC, Penta has also earned a number 9 ranking in both D1 Softball and Softball America’s Preseason Player Rankings. Penta has also been ranked the number three pitcher in the country by Softball America for their preseason rankings.

Peralta also with a stellar 2023 campaign as she led the team in batting average with a .329, runs (39) and 54 hits. In addition to these three categories, Peralta also led Auburn in walk as well recording 43, she was also able to reach base safely in 57 of Auburn’s 63 games.

In 2023 Peralta also earned Second Team All-SEC.
