Elmore County Student signs to Faulkner for fishing

Thursday morning students and community members gathered to see Elmore County Senior Matthew Bennett signs to Faulkner University.
Bennett is excited for the opportunity that awaits him at the next level and is pleased to see all of the hard work he put in on the water come to fruition.
“It just feels good to finally get it,” says Bennett.
Head Coach of the Eagles fishing team John Pollard explains that what helped Bennett stand out from the other kids he recruited was not just his work ethic out on the water, but also Bennett’s work ethic in the classroom.
“Really the main thing we look for in these guys and girls that we recruit, obviously their fishing ability and the success they’ve had on the water, but also academics and Matthew really excelled at academics,” says Pollard.
