Pay It Forward: Yvette Davis of Montgomery
Yvette Davis is a retired Montgomery Public Schools teacher as well as a military veteran. She continues to serve others.
“She taught all my grandchildren how to read before school-age and she also volunteers at the Life Academy school where my granddaughters attend right now. She is very, very just loving and giving and super smart,” said her nominator and sister Monique Davis.
For Yvette, it’s a way of life.
“We weren’t put on this earth to be alone. We are put here to help somebody else, so I honestly believe that service is one of the biggest of your characteristics,” said Yvette.
She says she learned how to be generous from her family.
“It means so much, especially to get your flowers while you were still alive. Monique is super, super thoughtful. This all starts with my mother because my mother told us that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. And I get a joy in my heart when I do give,” said Yvette.
