First of 100 affordable new modular homes delivered in Selma
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
At least a hundred affordable brand new homes are on their way to Selma — as construction starts to ramp up around the city.
It’s part of the Safe Livable Neighborhoods Recovery Initiative — a project aimed at revitalizing neighborhoods devastated by the January 12th tornado.
The initiative was announced at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
The first of the modular homes was delivered — and put into place on the 1400 block of Washington Street.
“This is a beautiful 1400 square foot house, 9 foot ceilings, energy efficient and it’s going to be affordable for Selma residents,” said Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America, President & CEO Bruce Marks.
“So, NACA has reinvented mortgage lending with it’s Best in America mortgage. No down payment, no closing cost, no fees, at a below market fixed rate.”
Two to four bedroom — two bath homes are available.
Officials say financing is also available — to make repairs to existing homes.
