Two Trojans named Preseason All-Americans

Troy Baseball

Troy junior outfielder Shane Lewis and senior pitcher Noah Manning earn Preseason All-American honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Both Lewis and Manning both had stellar 2023 campaigns for the Trojans.

Lewis set the record for most home runs in a season at Troy after posting 27 homers. The record was previously set by Jorge Soto (26 home runs) in 1999. Lewis also finished second on the Troy single-season list in RBI’s (77) and eighth with 153 total bases. In addition to these accolades, Lewis was named the 2023 Sun Belt newcomer of the year,  a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, and earned ABCA/Rawling All-America honors and first-team all-region honors.

In 2023 Manning made a name for himself as a closer as he finished the season ranked 14th in the nation and 1st in the Sun Belt for saves (11). Manning’s eleven saves left him just one shy of setting the single season record at Troy. Manning also led the Sun Belt and ranked 8th nationally in total appearances (34). Manning also earned himself the nickname “The Ringer” after holding his opponents to no earned runs in ten of his final eleven appearances.
