A Few Strong To Possibly Severe Storms Sunday Into Monday
A southerly wind flow has kicked in and gulf moisture is flowing into the state. The influx of moisture will only increase as we progress through the weekend. On the plus side, the southerly breezes will allow for warmer temps throughout the weekend. We’re expecting lower to mid 70s for afternoon highs both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday is looking mostly cloudy but mild temperaturewise. Temps will manage lower to mid 70s for highs. Occasional showers will work through the area throughout the day. More showers and possibly storms will be possible Saturday night into Sunday.
The rest of the weekend into Monday will be trending wetter as a frontal system hovers over the northern half of the state. A few more impulses will work along the boundary and bring us periods of rain. We expect a few embedded t-storms will accompany the rain at times. The severe storm threat is low but not zero. A few storms could be strong with gusty winds and heavy downpours. Rainfall potential over this three day period will range between 1 to 3 inches. The active weather pattern will linger into Monday but the main upper level system will depart Monday night and we’re back to dry and sunny condition Tuesday.
