Woman killed in Interstate 85 crash in Macon County
A woman has been killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 85 in Macon County.
Alabama State Troopers say 45-year-old Angela Wilson of Columbus, Georgia, died when the SUV she was riding in collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 40-year-old Rony Miranda of Opelika. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say Miranda was taken to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika for treatment. They say the driver of the SUV that Wilson was in, 44-year-old Adrien Wilson of Columbus, Georgia, was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
The crash happened at about 3:10 this morning on I-85 near mile marker 37, about one mile south of Tuskegee.
