A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison following an incident involving dozens of rounds of gunfire in Troy.

According to District Attorney James Tarbox, Daryl Davis was sentenced after pleading guilty to shooting into an occupied building.

Tarbox says on November 27, 2021, Troy police responded to a call of shots being fired on Aster Circle. Tarbox says that police determined that Davis and a co-defendant had been struck by gunfire after at least 30 rounds had been fired by a pistol and rifle.

Tarbox says after that gunfire, Davis picked up the rifle and fired approximately 25 rounds into an apartment building where multiple people had retreated after the initial gunfire between the co-defendant and a victim who had returned fire in self-defense.

Tarbox says no one in the apartment was struck by any of the bullets that pierced the external walls and traveled in and through the apartment.
